I tried to be a lady once. It was the worst six months of my life. Since then I’ve made a concerted effort to stop apologizing for the kind of woman I am. I like to dance. No, not really. I’m terrible at it, but I like to dance all over the edge of contemporary romance and erotica. It might be that whole “growing up Catholic” thing—wanting to sin, but feeling guilty for it—kinda my life story. Thankfully, one day, I decided to embrace that story and put it to paper. I love fiction, I love romance, and I like naughty stories about sex. My books are unapologetically edgy and silly with what I hope is the right amount of seriousness. I write the things I live. My characters are blunt, shy, hopefully funny, and both confident and insecure. In short, I try to write about life in all its craziness and I try to laugh at it! None of us are going to win this game, so why not go out smiling.
